The nerves were endless and the status of group winners on the line!
Palmerston Fc from Ireland were the next challenge, knowing we’d won two and they had lost both.
Team line up…
Ferry, Hanratty, Robertson, White, Watson, Beattie and Herd took the field for the last game of the day.
Again, it took a few minutes for us to get going but the ball never left the Irish Boys half! A stunning substitute hat trick for D’Angelo, a goal for captain Hanratty, two beautifully placed strikes from midfielder Robertson, and two lovely finishes one a piece for Watson and White took Currie comfortably to an 8-0 win.
The creativity of Neill led to several fine goals, with a particular strike smashing the cross bar and bouncing out that led to another finish!!!
The defensive performances from Herd, Tollins, Beattie and Hanratty were a joy to behold and I’m sure their names will be mentioned alongside the famous defences of all time in future EA FC cards.
Oscar Ferry, so often the unsung hero, keeping 3 clean sheets and controlling back passes like Allison Becker.
The Dubliners of Palmerston Fc came to town in search of gold and were sent packing with the sands of Cambrils Beach.
Truly proud of the boys, who are now having a well deserved afternoon off training!
On to the semi finals tomorrow
